Instant Work

As a quintessential component, “instant works” are a constant exercise that is practiced in random environments where the subject finds itself confronted with the surroundings. A proposal, a suggestion, an invitation. Visual prose.

A response to the overwhelm of experiencing a variety of art in a condensed format in a short period of time. The subject attacked, ecstatic, possessed, pressured, eclectic. To channel the energy, driven to produce and project it back at the institution what could be a better way than Jiu-jitsu.

Jujutsu  Japanese: 柔術 jūjutsu, is a family of Japanese martial arts and a method of close unarmed or with a minor weapon combat which can be used in a defensive or offensive manner to kill or subdue one or more opponents which are unarmed or with minor weapons.

Oakland revisited / Oakland 2019

Venturing into the night equipped with a projector and some basic items. City camping, looking for spaces, shelter. Waiting for something to interact with. A dance of light and shadow. Projecting poetry into the temporary in between spaces.

Venturing out into the field equipped with prefabricated framework elements of nothing. White chalk, a black canvas painted with an empty frame a bag attached. Landing in desolation, given up long ago. The search begins within the void. The dialog melting on the edge of existence.
